Georgia State University offers excellent benefits to its faculty and staff. The university has affordable healthcare, dental and a host of voluntary benefits for you and your dependents.

As part of the University System of Georgia, employees can choose from four medical options. The Board of Regents offers Blue Choice HMO, Kaiser Permanente HMO, HSA Open Access POS and Open Access POS. All plans provide preventive care benefits covered at 100%, no deductibles or co-pays. Employees have the flexibility to choose in-network or out-of-network healthcare providers to manage you and your family’s health. Pharmacy benefits compliment both HMO plans and a POS plan.

Employees can choose between two dental plans – the Georgia State University dental plan is a MetLife dental plan or the Board of Regents Indemnity plan, which is administered through MetLife. Both plans offer free preventive care services to employee and dependents that include:

  • two free cleanings
  • oral exam
  • x-rays
